After these, God started his further creation and God spoke "let there be light and there was light." He saw that was good and divided the light from darkness. He called light the day and darkness the night. so the evening and the morning were the first day. Then God created the firmament of the sky, the trees and the herbs, the creeping things, lights to rule the day and the night, Birds of the air and the sea creatures, living creature, beast of the earth and cattle of each kind and everything else through the word of his mouth and saw that it was good.
Creation of Man
Then God said," Let us make man in our image (Plurality) according to our likeness (Plurality); let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and every other creeping thing that creeps on the earth." ( Genesis 1:26)
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the Ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)
Creation of Woman
And the Lord God said, " It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."(Gen 2:18)
God brought all beast of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to him to see what he would call them.Whatever man called each living creature that was its name. But for him there was not found a helper comparable to him.
God used his extreme wisdom in bringing the living creatures of the world to man. Why? before man got his helpmate, God gave him a task. First, He wanted him to name the animals. God had a purpose in this order. He wanted man to realize that animals came in sets of two. Each one had a companion. Man named the animals, But for him there was not found a helper comparable to him.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and he brought her to the man. And Adam said; " This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man.(Gen 2:21-23)
Look at God's creative ability. Man and woman were formed of different materials. Man out of the dust of the earth and woman out of the rib of man.
God's Design for Marriage
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh (Gen 2:24)
This verse contain God's plan for marriage. It describes how to build a home on a solid foundation. There are three key words in that passage, all action words that spell out God's plan. First is the word leave. That means he has a new priority. The second word is to be joined together meaning to have a commitment and third to be one flesh which means the whole person - physical, psychological, spiritual becomes one with the mate. They become one physically not only for procreation and multiplication, but for communication - enjoying one another. meeting their deepest emotional needs. The Lord is the one who decided it was not good for man to be alone, so He created a woman. A couple also becomes one spiritually, enjoying the sweet communion of loving God together.
Mans Dominion over Creation
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, " Be fruitful and multiply; Fill the earth and subdue it; Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Gen : 1:28)
And God said, See I have given you every herb that yeilds seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yeilds seed; to you it shall be for food. " Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life. I have given every green herb for food" and it was so.
The above verse tells us that the Created human pair was given the entire dominion over the earth who were to become one spiritually, enjoying the sweet communion of loving God together, become one physically for communication - enjoying one another. meeting their deepest emotional needs and procreate and multiply.
Creation Completed
Then God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very Good (Gen 1:31)
Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. ( Gen 2:1)
He ( Jesus) was in the beginning with God (John 1:2)
All things were made through Him, and without him nothing was made that was made (John 1:3)
Notice the words of God " Very Good" which means that nothing was lacking and everything was beautiful and perfect at his sight. At the creation of man we saw God speaking in plurality which means that there were some one who is co-eternal and existent with God which is confirmed by the third verse. Now read the last verse which says that whatever was made were made through him ( That co-eternal being "Jesus") and without Him nothing was made that was made.
God created all the above said creations in six days. After these he named the seventh day " The Sabbath Day" Day of Rest in rememberance of His creation. No Nation or age had ever worked out the plan of seven days in a week. There is no proof for this in History. This plan of seven days in a week is only revealed in the Bible.
