"You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created." (Ezekiel 28:13)
"You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones" (Ezekiel 28:14)
In the above verses God tells about the creation of an Angel. He was a bright, shining individual. He was surpassing in beauty. (v. 13) Every precious stone was his covering. His garments were adorned with jewels. Extremely beautiful were his coverings. His voice was melody and music. Verse 13 also speaks of "pipes" being prepared in him. He didn't need an instrument to praise God . He was an instrument. When he spoke, it was like a great pipe organ. He was a cherub, an angel of the highest order of angels, the cherubim. Moreover, he was (v. 14) "an anointed cherub." meaning "set apart for special service, divinely chosen, consecrated." He had been consecrated for special service to God. He stretched out his wings before the throne of God. Anointed and appointed of God, and he was chief among them. What a creature! He lived in a jeweled city ( Description of Heaven where God dwells) whose very stones were fire. Streets of gold, walls of jasper, foundations of perfect gems. That's where this creature lived ! God says he was also in the Garden of Eden, the Garden of God which was on earth where he was assigned to Guard.
"You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities" (Ezekiel 28:18)
His dwelling place was among the sanctuaries (v. 18). What is a sanctuary? It's a place of worship. Where was this city? (v. 14) "The Mountain of God." When the Bible mentions the mountain of God, it speaks of God's authority, God's rule, God's government. God's Chief Angel was right there at the place of authority.
"You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you."(Ezekiel 28:15)
He was created in absolute perfection. God states he was perfect in all his ways (v. 15) "from the day you were created…"Imagine him full of wisdom, full of beauty, full of music, full of light, adorned with gems, walking up and down in the midst of the stones of fire, the burning holiness of God. But there is an "until" coming. "Till" is a word that denotes TIME. There was a period - we do not know how long-when the Chief Angel was perfect and served God.
Who is This Cherubim and What is His name?
"How you are fallen from heaven,O Lucifer son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)
"For you have said in your heart:'I will ascend into heaven ,I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;" (Isaiah 14:13)
The Bible tells us the name of the Chief Angel as Lucifer. The name "Lucifer" sounds evil to us today because of its idea and feeling which is not its actual meaning , but Lucifer literally means light-bearer. Lucifer the consecrated chief Angel for special service to God and who supposed to be the light bearer was cast down by God from Heaven. Why? What was his problem? Lucifer fell because he was lifted up with pride. Look at how many will we come across in the above word of God. God cast him down and he came and fell upon the earth burnt by the burning holiness of God which lit the earth so beautifully created and burnt it and there was darkness everywhere.
God did not create a devil. God created a holy angel. But this holy angel was lifted up with pride. God gave him the ability to choose between good and evil. He chose evil, and what motivated his choice was his pride. This Angel along with multitude of Angels who rebelled against God were cast out of the sanctuary of God. Where are these Fallen Angels?
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.(Revelation 12:7-9)
Notice the word heavenly places in the first verse and a place in heaven in the second verse. This heavenly place is different from the heaven where God dwells. The Bible tells us that no man has ever seen God and God dwells in light where no one can approach.
Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, where no man has seen or can see, to whom be honour and everlasting power. (1 Timothy 6:16).
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows- such a one was caught upto the third heaven. ( 2 Corinthians 12:2)
The Bible tells us that God created the heavens (in plural). There are three heavens. The First One is, open to the naked eye that is the sky.The second one is the" Heavenly places " where the spiritual hosts of wickedness (created spiritual invisible creatures who by their pride have fallen and cast out by God from his sanctuary) dwell and operate. The third one is the Heaven where God dwells and is described as the sanctuary ( It's a place of worship, God's authority, God's rule, God's government and throne are established there.
Why satan was not destroyed?
Look at the word of God (Bible) as to what it has to say.
"Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you saying; Is this the man who made the earth tremble. who shook kingdoms. who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners."(Isaiah 14:16-17)
There is a saying in tamil " Arasan andru kolvan, Theivam Nindru kollum." According to this truth God is going to judge. Those who commit gruesome murders are not hanged at once. They are first summoned for cross examination and then once it is proved only they are given the death sentence Even after this it takes some months and years to actually carry out the act. Likewise Satan and the angels who had fallen and cast away from heaven, before they are destroyed, God has to prove before the entire world and the remaining angels who serve God, that satan and the one third of the angels who fell with him are the ones who deceived the Human beings, the rulers of the kingdoms and the cities with his lie and made the world into a wilderness, captivated them in his prison. Then finally God will offer His judgement. If God would have destroyed them, then humanity who are created with six senses would have worshiped Him with fear instead of Love for Him.
