I (Jesus Christ) have come that they may have life, and they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.(Hebrews 9:28)

Daily refining of Your Spiritual Life

I rise before the dawning of the morning and cry for help; I hope in your word (Psalms 119:147)

An engineer on an International shipping vessel invited some of his passengers to visit the ship's navigational bridge to explain to them about its working. After he explained the working of the navigational equipment, one of the passengers remarked that all the brass parts on the equipment shone brightly as if it were gold. "How often do you shine it"? asked the passenger. The engineer replied every day.The moment you sop giving it a shine, it starts to lose its sheen.

The remark made by the engineer was comparable to the self appraisal made by a great musician. While taking about the need for daily practice, the musician said that if he missed even a day, he would find the difference in his playing. If he missed several days his judges would notice the difference. If weeks are missed, the public would notice the difference.

From the above examples of the engineer and the musician we learn a lesson. Let us not follow an irregular pattern in our spiritual disciplines, if we want to become more like our Lord Jesus Christ and want to live our lives as living testimony for Him. As David says in psalm 145:2, we should praise God everyday. Like the Bereans, we are to search the scriptures daily and meditate and like Daniel we need to set aside times to pray throughout the day.

Finally to be spiritually Fit Feed on the word of God and exercise your faith. Practice the presence of God and be in fellowship with Him.
