I (Jesus Christ) have come that they may have life, and they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.(Hebrews 9:28)

A Deepening Conviction

" The Bible is True and absolutely Trustworthy"

The Bible is God's word written, Other books have to be understood before it can be accepted. The Bible has to be accepted before it can be understood. It yeilds its secrets only to those who come to it believingly.

A Verse to Meditate and contemplate

"....... The Scripture cannot be broken." (John 10:35)

Many believe it to be an inspirational book, but not necessarily a divine inspired book. If we cannot trust what the Holy Spirit has recorded for us in scripture then what is our framework of reference? From where do we get our instructions? Without trust in the Bible the Christian life is mentally tiring. With trust in the Bible there is daily growth.

A Verse to Meditate and contemplate

" For prophecy never came by the will of man, but Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:21)

This is how we can approach our time of Bible reading

We should come to the Bible believingly: It is not just a good book. It is God's Book. It can be trusted as God can be trusted. We should come to the Bible expectantly: The Bible is alive with meaning. Expect it to speak and it will speak. We should come to it unhurriedly: If you stride through a forest, you will see and hear very little, but sit down and you will see and hear all the sounds of nature because you are quite and receptive.

A Verse to Meditate and contemplate

" I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread." (Job 23:12)

And we must come to the Bible willing to surrender to the truth it reveals. In a moral universe the key to knowledge is response. The moment we stop obeying is the moment that the Holy Spirit ceases to reveal things to us.

Finally we should continue to come to the Bible even if nothing apparently results from it. Just to expose yourself to the Bible is infinitely worthwhile. To be with Him though unseen and unheard is in itself a great reward.

I hope the conviction that the Bible is God's word and is a true and trust worthy book is yours too.

A Verse to Meditate and contemplate

" Your words were found and I ate them and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart...... (Jeremiah 15:16)
