The above verse tells us ,Yes, God indeed sent His son at the perfect time to be born of a woman who also was born under the law.
How was the son to be born of woman?
God sent an angel by name Gabriel to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph. The virgin's name was Mary (Luke 1:27):
Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary for you have found favour with God. " And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call His name JESUS.He will be called the son of the Highest. And he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. Mary said, "How can this be since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also the Holy one who is to be born will be called the son of God.(Luke 1:26-33)
The above verse tells us, God sent an angel to Mary who was betrothed to Joseph. The angel tells her that she had found favour at the sight of God the Most High. She will conceive and give birth to a son who shall be named "JESUS" The Son of the Highest She was troubled and asks how can this happen as her marriage has not taken place and she has not come together to be with a man. But the Angel says, The Holy spirit will come upon her and His power shall cause it to happen and therefore a son will be born who will be called the Son of God.
Is this possible?
The Bible tells us "For with God nothing is impossible." (Luke 1:37)
Yes, In Tamil we have a saying "Thoonilum Iruppar;Thurumbilum Iruppar" If this is true, would it be impossible for a God who cannot be contained and who is beyond comprehension to make himself begotten from the womb of the virgin.
Did God announce Joseph too in a similar way?
The Bible tells us that Mary was found with the child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But an angel of the Lord appeared to him in adream saying, " Joseph, .... do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for he will save His people from their sins....... Then Joseph being aroused from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife.(Mathew 1:18-24)
The above verse tells us that Joseph also was made known and he changes his plans of putting Mary away and resorts to Taking her as his wife.
Jesus Christ was Born
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.(Luke 2:7)
The above verse tells us that Mary gave birth to her first born son. After the days of purification of her were completed, the child was brought to the temple according to the custom of the law. The devout man who took up the child in his hand Praised God and said, "My eyes have seen your salvation", " which you have prepared before the face of all peoples, " a light to bring revelation to the gentiles, (The rest of the world other than Israel) and the glory of your people Israel" (Luke 2:28-31).
The devout man tells that He has seen the salvation that God has prepared to be manifested in the world which would bring light to all the people of the earth and Glory to Israel. The Bible tells us that at the age of twelve Jesus in the temple of Jerusalem, sitting in the midst of the teachers was listening and asking questions, at which they who heard, were astonished at his understanding and answers. Afterwards he was with his parents and subject to them and increased in wisdom and stature and favour with God and men.
John's witness of Jesus
The Bible tells us that John was a Baptist who was sent earlier to Jesus to prepare the way for the Lord. As he was baptising people for repentance He saw Jesus coming towards Him. On seeing Him He said. " Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the World." (John 1:29). Then Jesus was baptised by John and as he was coming up from the water he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, " You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." (Mark 1:9-11)
